Asia is big, really big…
Our Asia travel started with a six week trip in 2007. It was Tim’s first time out of the U.S. His eyesight has been on a long, slow decline, but back then, when we didn’t know how quickly it was going to go, I asked if there was one place he wanted to see while he still could. He said the Great Wall of China. I said okay, and planned the trip. We had a great time and found not only great sights, but wonderful people. That trip to China is what got Tim hooked on travel – and where the travel legend of Team Hazard started.
Fast forward to 2017, and we started our new, long term adventure in Indonesia, then Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. Then Tim broke his leg and we had a few months delay while he healed in Thailand. We were going to head north, back through China, heading for Mongolia, but the delay put it too late into the winter to make that a wise choice.
We plan to head back to continue our Asia travels. We’ll probably revisit Indonesia, there’s so much to see there. And we’ll go to Vietnam and Cambodia like we originally planned. If the timing is right, we might continue with the plan to go to Mongolia, and then head south through Central Asia.
We’d love to go to places like Japan and Korea when our budget permits. And India will be its own big adventure someday.
So we’ve seen a lot in our Asian travels, but we also know there’s so much more to see. We’ll get there. We’re not sure when, maybe sooner than later, but we hope you enjoy reading about the adventures we’ve had so far.
Asia is one of the most easily achievable travel destinations. We hope we can inspire you to give it a look and maybe go there yourself.
