The Dragon Bridge Fire Show puts on an awesome display of pyrotechnics, but even without the flames, the Dragon Bridge puts on a great rainbow colored light show. The colorful display lights up the night and can be seen from around much of Da Nang.

But this is the big SECRET:
If you sit in the right spot after the Dragon Bridge Fire Show, you can watch the colorfully lit tour boats pass under the color changing Dragon Bridge as they return to their docks. All together, it’s quite a sight.

Seeing the Fire Show from a tour boat is the only way I haven’t seen the Dragon Bridge, but much of that has to do with Covid and various lockdowns. I loved being up close to the Dragon for the show, but if things open up again before we leave, I may venture to get on a tour boat.

You can have a nice drink here, too. It’s one of the best things to do in Da Nang after oohing and aahing at the Fire Show, especially if you’re not looking to join the hustle and bustle of Love Bridge, or the Son Tra Night Market. Though those are fun, too.

And if you have a handy compact tripod with you, you can set up your phone to take a hyperlapse that’s very cool.

From this vantage point, right across the street, there’s a string of simple eateries serving beer, seafood and other delicious things. It’s a more local experience, rather than the western-style bars down the street. Just weave your way across the street. Be brave and know people will try not to hit you. It’s worth it when the fire show is over but you’re not quite ready to go home.
